Supporting Children Battling Leukemia through Financial Contributions

ACTIVITY REPORT

Activity Theme: Supporting Children Battling Leukemia through Financial Contributions
Date: 14th April 2025
Activity No.: 2025-3

Activity Objectives:

  1. Alleviate Financial Burden – To provide monetary assistance to families of children diagnosed with leukemia, helping them cope with high treatment costs such as hospital fees, medication, and transportation.
  2. Ensure Continuity of Medical Treatment – To reduce the risk of treatment interruption due to financial difficulties, ensuring that young patients can receive timely and complete care.
  3. Promote Compassionate Giving – To inspire individuals and organizations to take part in supporting paediatric leukemia patients through direct financial contributions.
  4. Raise Awareness on Economic Hardship Faced by Affected Families – To highlight the financial struggles families face while battling childhood cancer, and mobilize public support through fundraising campaigns and donation drives.

The “Supporting Children Battling Leukemia through Financial Contributions” initiative is a compassionate effort aimed at providing urgent financial aid to young cancer patients.
We believe that no child should be denied treatment because of financial limitations. By mobilizing community support, this initiative seeks to ease the burden on affected
families and give children a better chance at recovery.

This particular fundraising effort is dedicated to Siti Nurayra Marrisa, a cheerful 6-year- old girl from Papar, Sabah, who was diagnosed with leukemia. Siti spends her days in pain,
facing difficult treatments and uncertainty. Her parents, in a desperate bid to save her, sold their only home with RM5000 that sadly falls short of the escalating medical costs.

Currently, the family is living in a cramped and sparsely furnished space, overwhelmed by both emotional and financial stress. With treatment costs continuing to rise, they are unable to keep up on their own. Through this initiative, we hope to rally support from kind- hearted individuals to sustain Siti’s treatment and give her a second chance at life.

Key Activities:

  • Direct Financial Contribution to Patient – Channel all collected donations directly to the medical fund of Siti Nurayra Marrisa, supporting her ongoing leukemia treatment and related expenses.
  • Collaboration with Two Give Organisation – Partner with Two Give Organisation to ensure transparent, secure, and traceable disbursement of funds to the verified beneficiary.
  • Fundraising for Sustainable Support – Organize digital and community-based fundraising campaigns to mobilize contributions from individuals, corporations, and social groups.
  • Donor Engagement & Acknowledgement – Maintain regular updates for donors on the impact of their support and create opportunities for long-term donor engagement through recurring giving options

Conclusion:

Through this initiative, we extend not only financial assistance, but also hope and solidarity to Siti Nurayra Marrisa in her brave battle against leukemia. Every contribution,
no matter the amount, brings her one step closer to recovery and relieves the immense burden carried by her family. By standing together as a compassionate community, we can give Siti the fighting chance she deserves and remind her that she is not alone. Let us be the reason she continues to believe in healing, kindness, and a brighter tomorrow.

Future Outlook:

The “Supporting Children Battling Leukemia through Financial Contributions” initiative aims to evolve into a sustainable, long-term program that ensures continuous financial
support for young cancer patients. Moving forward, the focus will be on building recurring donation channels, expanding aid to more children in need, and fostering public involvement through awareness-driven campaigns. Efforts will also be made to strengthen fundraising strategies and form corporate partnerships to maintain long-term financial stability. Ultimately, this initiative strives to create a future where no child is denied treatment due to financial hardship, and where communities come together to bring hope, healing, and lasting support to those in need.
